About ICC Imara
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25
Since June 2017, the ICC churches completed a transition and are now operating as independent churches. Through our church mission statement to “Connecting people to God and to each other, Challenging believers to Christ likeness and Changing the world.” ICC-Imara has experienced God’s favor in many areas and as we look back, we can speak of God’s faithfulness in growth in all our ministries.
Our vision is to see our congregation grow and mature spiritually through the teaching of the word of God from the pulpit and the various Connecting Groups. We have witnessed our youth comprising of the Next-Gen (Toddlers – 13 years), Teenz (13 – 17 years) and the iFrontrunners (18 – 25Years) experiencing a transformation in engagement and spiritual maturity. We can now call ourselves a church of the 21st century through doing ministry in a modern way with a target of ministering to the urban community.
The fact that we have many youthful to middle age congregants is evidence that we are reaching our targeted urban population which comprises students, the young professionals and working class. We invite you to join us and be a part of our family, together we will grow, together we will learn.
As you visit this website, we invite you to engage with us on-line during our live services every Sunday or by attending our Sunday services at 8:30am and 10:30am. Bring your children we will take care of them and teach them the word of God in a way they will understand. Within the sanctuary, we have carved out a creche for parents with 0 – 6-months old babies to allow them to fully participate in the service. We also have wonderful programs for all age-groups and it is our prayer that as you interact with us you will find ICC – Imara A Place To Belong.
Please join a Connecting Group so that you may be able to know us as we get to know you. We believe that God has brought you to us for a purpose. May God bless you and renew your strength.
Rev. Julius and Marianne Wainaina – Senior Pastors, ICC Imara
God’s Love Impacting Generations
Connecting people to God and to each other, Challenging believers to Christlikeness, Changing the world
Excellence: We are committed to pursuing God and doing the best we can with the gifts and abilities that God gives us. We are on a continuous journey to improve our skills to meet and exceed the goals we have set to the glory of God. (Daniel 6:3; Philippians 4:8; Titus 2:7)
Biblical Truth: Our belief is grounded in the word of God. The Bible is at the heart and centre of our church and its ministries. The scriptures equip us to do the work God set before us, to be vessels in spreading His word to all ends of the earth. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Tim 3 : 16-17)
Prayer and worship: Communicating with God through prayer, strengthens our relationship with God. Our prayer and worship include expressions of thanksgiving, praise, confession, intercession, and petition. We value worship that is joyful, diverse, reverent, and inspiring, thereby celebrating the joy of our salvation. (Matthew 6:9-13; Psalm 95:6)
Fellowship and Community: The mutual bond that we have with Christ unites us in a profound and eternal relationship of love. This bond releases us to express God’s love in joyful and affectionate service to each other and for the benefit of His kingdom. ( 1 Corinthians 1:10; Hebrews 10:24-25)
Authentic Relationships: We are devoted to demonstrated genuine care and love for one another. We fellowship with one another in truth and love for shared spiritual growth, encouraging and spurring each other to good works. (Acts 2:42-44; John 13; 34,35).
Servanthood: We purpose to equip every Christian to be a servant-leader, in the home, church community and at work. (Matthew 20: 26-28; Mark 10:45)
Innovation and Creativity: We believe that our Creator God is a creative God who made us creative. Therefore, we seek to be creative and innovative. (Exodus 35:31-32)
