One Mission, GO!
Dear ICC Imara Family,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
What a remarkable journey the Lord has been leading us on this year! Looking back, it is evident that every series has been intentionally shaping us not only to become better Christians, but to become faithful participants in God’s great mission.
We began by becoming ‘Rooted in Christ’, learning that a fruitful Christian life can only grow from a deep and abiding relationship with Jesus. From there, we moved into ‘Deeper Together’, discovering that spiritual maturity is not a solo journey but one that flourishes in authentic Christian community as we grow, serve, and care for one another.
Our journey continued through ‘Faith@Work’, where the Book of James challenged us to demonstrate a living faith that is visible in our daily lives. Faith is not merely what we profess on Sunday, but what we practice every day in our homes, workplaces, schools, businesses, and communities.
Those lessons naturally led us into ‘All Hands, One Mission’, where we discovered that every believer has been uniquely gifted and called to serve in the mission of God. We were reminded that God’s work is accomplished when every member joyfully offers their hands in service.
Most recently, through ‘Open Hands, One Mission’, we learnt that God’s mission is sustained through joyful and sacrificial generosity. We were challenged to see giving not as an obligation but as an act of worship, gratitude, trust, and partnership with God in advancing His Kingdom.
As we opened our hands before God, we acknowledged that everything we have ultimately belongs to Him.
Now, with our hearts rooted, our lives united, our hands serving, and our treasures surrendered, we are ready for the next step.
One Mission – GO!
This is where everything comes together.
Jesus’ final instruction to His disciples was not merely to grow, gather, serve, or give. His command was clear: “Go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19).
The Church does not merely have missions as one of its ministries; the Church exists because of God’s mission. Every follower of Christ has been commissioned to represent Him wherever God has placed them. Whether in our families, neighbourhoods, workplaces, campuses, businesses, or among the nations, we are Christ’s ambassadors carrying the hope of the Gospel.
Throughout this Missions & Outreach Month, we will discover that sharing the Gospel is not reserved for a few gifted evangelists or missionaries. It is the joyful calling of every believer. Together we will learn that effective witness begins with prayer, depends entirely upon the empowering of the Holy Spirit, is grounded in God’s Word, and is demonstrated through lives that reflect the love and character of Jesus Christ.
As we pray for the Lord of the harvest to send workers into His harvest field, may we also hear His gentle invitation to each one of us: “Whom shall I send?” May our response be, “Here I am. Send me.”
My prayer is that this month God will renew our compassion for those who are far from Him, deepen our confidence in the power of the Gospel, and fill us with fresh courage to become faithful witnesses wherever He leads us. May we move beyond admiring God’s mission to actively participating in it, so that through our lives many will come to know Jesus Christ.
This year we have learned to be Rooted, to Grow Deeper Together, to live our Faith@Work, to offer All Hands, to surrender with Open Hands, and now, by God’s grace…
One Mission – GO!
May the Lord use every one of us for His glory.
