LIFT HIM UP!

“Every Heart. Every Voice. Every Generation.”

Scripture: Psalm 34:3 “Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.” (NIV)

Dear ICC-Imara Family,

Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Have you ever wondered why we worship God? Is it because He has answered our prayers, blessed our families, provided for our needs, or brought us through difficult seasons? Certainly, these are wonderful reasons to praise Him. But what happens when the prayers remain unanswered, the struggles continue, or life does not turn out as we expected?

Is God still worthy of our worship? Absolutely!

The truth is that we do not worship God simply because of what He has done for us. We worship Him because of WHO HE IS! He is holy, faithful, loving, gracious, and sovereign. His worthiness does not change with our circumstances.

This is why I am excited to introduce our new sermon and worship experience series, “LIFT HIM UP!”

Throughout Scripture, we encounter ordinary people who worshipped God in extraordinary circumstances.

Abraham worshipped through surrender, even when obedience was costly. Moses and Miriam lifted their voices in thanksgiving after experiencing God’s miraculous deliverance. David celebrated God’s presence with unrestrained joy. Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah lifted their praises while facing an overwhelming enemy. And Paul and Silas sang hymns to God at midnight, even while imprisoned.

Different people. Different generations. Different circumstances. One God, worthy of all praise!

Their stories remind us of something powerful: “Worship is not the absence of life’s challenges“; it is the declaration of God’s greatness in the midst of them.

As we journey through this series, I want to challenge us to rediscover worship beyond the songs we sing on Sunday. Worship is expressed in our surrender, obedience, gratitude, generosity, service, and daily walk with God. It is not simply something we do when we gather in church; it is a lifestyle we carry into our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities.

Jesus reminds us in John 4:23-24 that the Father seeks those who worship Him in Spirit and truth. God is not merely looking for beautiful music or impressive expressions of praise. He desires hearts that are genuinely devoted to Him.

And what a beautiful opportunity this is for us as a church family!

Whether you are young or old, whether you love traditional hymns or contemporary worship, whether you are celebrating a victory or walking through a difficult season, there is room for your voice in this great chorus of praise.

“Every heart matters. Every voice belongs. Every generation has a reason to worship!”

My prayer is that this will not simply be another sermon series, but a season of spiritual renewal, where our hearts are awakened to God’s greatness, our faith is strengthened, and our love for His presence grows deeper.

So, come with an expectant heart. Come ready to worship, to surrender, to celebrate, and to encounter God through His Word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

And remember:

When life is good — Lift Him Up!
When life is difficult — Lift Him Up!
When prayers are answered — Lift Him Up!
When you are still waiting — Lift Him Up!

Because our God is worthy in every season of life.

As the psalmist invites us: “Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.” — Psalm 34:3

Church, let us lift Him up — not just with our voices, but with our lives!

Every Heart. Every Voice. Every Generation.
